My name is Bebe Poor. I am the sole potter at Pleasant Springs Pottery. I use three distinct stoneware clays. A white clay that shows beautiful glaze colors. A speckled buff stoneware that is a little more earthy. The third is a dark black clay. I have several glaze combinations that I love on the dark clay.
I throw on the wheel and I do a lot of hand building. I make some of my favorite pieces from slabs. Spoon rests, ring bowls, plaques, and some dishes. I take slab scraps, roll them out thinner and make ceramic pendants.
The photograph above is white clay Ring Bowls in a style I call M&M. That stands for Many Imprints/Many Glazes. It is my most popular style.
